The first thing I want to show you in the new content: Throwable Weapons.
They are not in your arsenal, but left somewhere from someone. A smooth way to expand the flow of combat and, of course, a nice change of pace.
And let’s be honest: it just feels badass with the right sound design, which I have also found, by the way.
These weapons (currently only spears, but more will come) will always be found somewhere where you need a little more fun in combat.
After picking them up you have a really short time-window to throw it. Lack of movement in this duration is exchanged for heavy damage!
Something new I worked on today.
I think that worked really well.
There was a NPC which has gone completely useless meanwhile. But this is now over!
Except his really annoying habit to say Ahhhh the whole time, he can be really useful, but that is coming with a risk.
Like to gamble? Just roll the dices. The one who throws the higher number wins.
At the moment the chance is 45 to 55. Please tell me in <#1335386578486300672> or in <#1264619857706619021> what do you think is a better win chance and why?
You can set a risk for 10 gold, 50 gold and 100 gold. You would loose a 100% of this bet but only win 8, 40 and 80.
Some of you may remember the Shade Of Fading Day, a really weird name but I like it that much, yes : D
Back then she was upgrading your HP, which is not existent anymore, because every adventurer can play with HP builds now, depending on the gemstones you put in your armor and weapons.
She is giving blesings now, which are passive buffs you keep your entire storyline. But even this is not completely new.
I changed her personality from a weird ghostly figure, only talking cryptic stuff to an enjoying personality that takes care of the tree of her homeland Tanuki.
Tanuki is heavy connected with the Racoons lore-wise but thats another story.
She is enjoying the place so much that she offers you to take some rest whenever you visit here, which is a purely immersive feature that lets you sit on the bench and enjoying the cherry blossom tree for a while.
Ok the dice gambling was a lie!
It was disguised as a dice game, but theoretically it was a coin toss, it decided if you loose or win, thats all.
I changed that!!!
And I am glad I did.
Now its a real dice game. You are rolling a number between 1 and 12, and he is doing the same.
Simple, satisfying, addictive.
Im glad I learned how to compare the variables, and not only that, I can use this knowledge for the future to create a better experience at all.
Tomorrow I will complete and show you the new library function.
This is the new Library-System.
Forget the old /story command where you open this weird lorebook-shop and forget unlocking lore with pages.
I think knowledge should be accessable as often as you want, as long you are one of these players who is interested in lore.
That means:
You talk with anyone who is telling you something important, or something significant about the world of Void Tales, it could happen that you wander around and this pile of books will tell you that you have a new book.
And the little symbol will even tell you which one is new.
Lady Merriweather!
I always liked her because she is a nice change from some of this darker beings at Soul Station.
Somehow even a normal person.
Her purpose before was to tell confused player that this airship is bringing them to Ibis Island, the start of your adventure!
Now she is basically doing the same, but she is talking about Emmeline, too.
Emmeline is the train of the Soul Station which brings the passenger to the place they desire.
So she will have new dialog unlocked as soon the player is summoning Emmeline for the first time.
And in addition you can ask her if Ibis Island is harboring one of the fragments, which will lead to an updated questjournal and more information about the first fragment: Ibis!
I decided to continue today!
Does anyone remembers Agnes? She is taking your monster material for +1 gold. Thats all.
I wanted to change that!
She has a much deeper dialog now with a “getting to know each other” phase. She will tell you that every monster or enemy can have a relentless will, and that this will can live on in their remains. It is your free will to tell her what do you think of that, but in the end she will be at your side again and offer you +1 gold for each mob material.
But this time you can ask her even more things about herself and why she is doing that. And even better:
If you sell monster material to her at night, it will give you +2 gold now, and even +3 gold on full moons.
Do you seek fast money or are you willing to sacrifice some place in your bags and wait to the night… or even longer : D
Oh and she will have a quest now!
